Stepping Foot Into the World of Networking

There are many different specializations to choose from in the IT field. One of the more common fields of IT is the networking field. The networking field deals with the global communications we all know as the internet. How does one get their foot in the door in the networking field you might ask? There are a variety of ways such as making a lateral move from a different IT field to knowing someone in the field willing to give you a chance to jump into this side IT.

Most people however aren't able to use the options above to make the move into networking technology. Another common way is to learn about networking and gradually make the move into networking. By far the best way to do this is to pass what's known as the CCNA Exam. This is an exam implemented by a very well known network vendor called Cisco. This exam confirms that you have the foundation knowledge to configure and troubleshoot small to medium sized networks.

The great thing about the CCNA is that you can study on your own time or take a class to teach you the material. One of the best ways to learn about and pass the CCNA exam is to create hands on CCNA lab scenarios. These CCNA labs force you to think about exactly what's happening on a network and why. Not only that, you learn exactly how to troubleshoot issues that replicates what can really in a real world environment.

To get started I recommend checking the Cisco website along with any blogs or forums that you can get your hands on. This will show you if the CCNA is right for you or if there are other options out there. From there, you may want to check out if self study or teacher taught courses are the best for you, everyone learns differently. With dedication it is possible to pass your CCNA exam and with even more dedication, you can find that perfect networking career!
