How Long Should I Study For The CCENT Exam?

Many people aren't sure how long they need to prepare for the CCENT Exam simply because they aren't sure exactly what is on it and how hard it is. The time to prepare is going to be different for everybody depending on your experience and time available every single day to study. Some people are currently working, or are in school full-time so they will need to adapt their schedule accordingly.

I would say that most people should prepare anywhere from three to six months, but I think a lot of people end up preparing for up to twelve months. I sure hope people don't study for it for over a year.

The CCENT Exam is difficult and it isn't any easier than the CCNA Exam is so be sure to study hard for it. There are only around 50 questions on the CCENT Exam. Because there aren't that many questions, like hundreds of them, do you really think you need a whole year to prepare? That is why I think most people should stick to only three to six months of preparation.

I recommend that people create a personal plan that they can stick to, so that they can set a reasonable goal and achieve it so that they can get ahead in life. There are tons of different books and programs that you can use to study for your CCENT Exam and if you don't have one already I'll recommend a free site at the end of this article that will point you in the right direction. So, take a look at the table of contents of the book that you are using. You should see anywhere from six to twenty chapters. Based on the content of the book decide how much time you are going to spend on each chapter. Honestly It could take you one week to get through an entire chapter. Which is okay. Go at your own pace and be sure to get in enough practice time on the routers, so that you know how to configure them correctly. Cisco is going to test you hard on that.

Now that you have your plan be sure to save about one to two weeks of review time right before your exam. This way you won't be learning brand new information the day before the exam.
